First topic here and I thought to make it an useful one for this new forum.

Have you ever wondered how to make the power button in the start menu to shut down, rather then go to sleep?



Well, I'm going to tell you a little trick that can make that happen.

First Click the start button
Go to control panel
If classic view isnt shown, click classic view
Click power options
Select the plan to have currently and click change plan settings
click change advance power settings
click power buttons and lid
click start menu
click sleep on both options and chose shut down

Your power button will then change color and a new image will be shown.'

This works in all Windows Operating systems XP and up; I don't get the need for the CNET screenshot.

Additionally, you can do other things with the menu. My personal favorite thing to do with the Start Menu is to stop highlighting and hidding. These two features annoy the heck out of me. I'm sure that others may feel the same. If you want to turn those things off, just go to the same menu; its on that menu too!
