I start out by explaining the benefits of Windows Vista. There are many benefits, but here are some that I talk about:
- You can remotely access other computers on your network (at least the ones that are configured to allow remote access to it)
- If you don't have a wireless printer, and you want to remotely print from your notebook then you can remotely connect to your PC and print from there
- You can open multiple remote desktop applications. This is really useful for those that have multiple PCs on their home network and want to manage each of them from their computer. You can remotely install software, or just perform simple tasks.

After the benefits, I described the steps you need to follow for configuring remote desktop.

Step 1. Connect your remote computer online (the computer you want to control)

Step 2. Enable remote connections on the computer that you want to control, and add the appropriate users that you want to allow to be remote controlled

Step 3. Launch the Remote Desktop Connection tool. Enter in the IP address of the computer that you want to connect to
Enter in the username and password of the remote computer’s account you want to access.


After the steps, I showed an actual demonstration of how I configured a notebook for remote access and accessed it from my Windows Vista PC. You can see this in my video at:

There are lot of many site who offers remote desktop control for your pc. Some of them are logonmypc, Gotoassist. I found Gotoassist very useful. But i guess this is not free for download. Of course you can download trial version and try. But after trial period it won't work. But there is a catch. While uninstalling gotoassist also remove registry entry then when you will install next time it will let you install again. This way you can continue use that. How to remove registry entry? I have posted one thread in this forum to achieve that. you have to find out and try that. if you don't find then let me know i will tell you the thread. but i want you people to work and find that thread.

I agree with you Jaz, there are different remote desktop solutions like VNC. The Remote Desktop feature in Vista is a different type of solution that remotely connects to only computers on your own network, not computers on someone elses network. If you want to access computers from your home in your office, then you would use those other VNC programs. Otherwise you can use the Remote Desktop Application at your home and control your PC for free.

I noticed that you discussed an illegal way to take advantage of a software in your post. I doubt this forum supports piracy or software cracking.

very well said. But trial version itself has limitation. it doesn't have all the features and they only made it avaliable to free download. & I havn't mentioned that how to remove registrry entry. registry entry can't modified a novice otherwise some times system might get crashed.
