I'm constantly looking for new gadgets to stick on my sidebar. I want to be able to glance at the side of my screen and know everything I need to know about the condition of my laptop. It took me a long time to get it the way I want it. However, I don't think it's perfect, and will change things around as people make newer and better gadgets.
The reason I added this topic is that I want to see what other people are using, so maybe I can get some better ideas of what to stick there. Maybe some of you will like my ideas as well. Anywho, here's my sidebar as it looks now, with notes:

LMAO! I cant even run these widget.. err, gadget apps on my pc, it slows it down to much LOL! I used to use Yahoo Widgets but meh.. still to slow.

Not really. In this topic, I want to see the layouts, not just a list of them. Someone can recommend a good gadget, but if it's made more for undocked mode, or if it takes up 2/3 of the dock, it won't be as useful. In this thread, people can recommend gadgets AND show off how they use them. And it doesn't have to be limited to Vista sidebar, either. Yahoo or Google gadgets can work here too. The point is, since no one gadget does everything, to show how you combine them to make your workspace more useful.

Man Vista runs very very slow on my machine but i'll try installing one of those.Looks great though.

If you are having flash drive or zip drive you can use one of new feature of Window vista which is called memory booster. This will allow you to add temporary memory in RAM. Your system will become unbelievable fast. I had tried till 8 GB flash drive and it works pretty good. I haven't tried it with external USB hard drive. You can try with that and see if it impact speed of your operating system.

It will speed it up, the only problem is that it won't allow for better performance as such when running programs, as in, yes, they will load faster but image processing etc will still be pretty slow generally speaking.

I wanted to install ubuntu on my 2gb flash drive, it wasn't big enough, yet it is bigger enough to fit the installer on a 700mb cd, it's amazing to see how compression has advanced.

Are you talking about Vista ReadyBoost ? Thanks for the tip though.

Yup. I was talking about vista Readyboost only. It seems that you already knew about it .
