thats like a laptop you only dream about. I dont know about other people but this is like amazing
I think calling that thing a laptop is a misnomer. If I bring that to a class next year to take notes on, besides breaking my back, people would glare at it because of how dang huge it is. Battery Life would also be a downer for those long projects worked on away from the desktop. However, since I don't have a desktop, this would serve as one.

Talking Thoughs about Dragon

I've never really voiced my opinion about this laptop, but yeah. Holy geebus, HP comes out with some ridiculous technology. I was watching the youtube video of the from digitalmediathought.com and notebooks.com of the Dragon and was thinking, this thing is pretty large. I was also wondering if it was larger than our house tv. Really though let's call it a standtop since it doesn't fit on your lap but is too small for a desk. Anyway, I really like how the media remote is at your fingertips. It would make playing, replaying and screening movies a breeze. The feature that includes the full keyboard is not bad either. It't not like you see many laptops having that for their sizes. I see myself never using the battery though. It'll pretty much end up a stand-alone desktop for me.

All in all, I think it's great. It rivals my other favorite thing from HP, The Blackbird. I would actually choose that monster over the Dragon lol.

Afcourse it would serve as a desktop. This one is huge and it has the power of a desktop of these times!

If I win the HP Pavilion HDX Notebook PC, I intend to use it as a portable on the go desktop. This is what HP wants you to do anyway because it calls this a "Notebook PC" not a "Notebook". If you were to carry it around like a notebook you would wear yourself out. This thing is heavy!

I do not agree with the fact that this is the best notebook, because this "Notebook PC" serves a completely different purpose. Notebooks are meant to be mobile in my opinion. They're supposed to be devces that are light and easy to carry around with you. This is a "Notebook PC" and is meant to act like a small form PC that you can carry around with you. An example of a good notebook would be the ASUS EEE PC or the HP Mini-Note. Now that's what I call a notebook!

You can see a review on the ASUS here:

There is also a review of the HP Mini-Note here:

You did right now!

Notebooks are coming closer and closer to the desktop performance. Desktop will always have one big advantage. Cooling systems!

Though there's no way of complaining but i've heard that the 4GB ram & the HDDs which has been used in Dragon aren't of high quality. It can be determined by the Vista Experience Index Memory & HDD scores. They should've used 7200RPM drives though & some Corsair or Micron memories.

Here's a screenshot of Vista Performance Index for all vital parts of Dragon ( taken from a review linked below) .

There's a great review of Dragon if you've not seen it yet.

Thanks for the link/review. The quality of the memory doesn't botter me. The hard disk that run @ 5 400RPM is that great, but when the dragon was released in June 2007 it came with a hard disk @ 4 200RPM.
