| Computer users should for every 15 minutes or so of use at a computer exercise and flex their wrists for future risk of CTS (carpal tunnel syndrome). This is especially important for graphic designers and digital illustrators. Also be sure to come up out of your chair every 25-30 minute if you're working for prolonged periods of time behind a desk at your computer. Bloodflow to the extremities to the brain and other ligaments allow for a more efficient and effective way of working. Always be sure to keep good lighting on your desktop area as your eyes are the first to get the workout of the longhaul at the desk than any other part of the body.

| Carpal tunnel syndrome sounds like a fish disease O.O But I guess I'm in trouble, I stay in front of the computer for hours at a time XD Never knew about the brain though, guess I will have to rethink on the matter, thanks ![]()

| good points Daniel. By some miracle I don't suffer crom carpal tunnel syndrome, but my posture has taken a beating over the years. I know I should do some of the things you mention, but I always forget. I've spent as much as 8 hours in my office chair at one sitting and it was nearly imporssible for me to stand up again! The tough thing about computer injuries is that you don't feel them as you're working- only long after.

| In one of my classes we end up sitting for hours on the computer to learn our Cisco Networking material, as our class is completely online based. We learn all our concepts online and get help from our instructor and use the lab material in class. I'm used to sitting down on the computer in that class, but every half hour I get up and walk around. I love doing the labs though, because I constantly have to get up walk around and set up the switches/routers appropriately as opposed to sitting on the computer and reading the whole time.

| I spend just about all day on my computers at home, and I haven't gotten CTS yet. Although I think it's pretty much just a matter of time since my career will revolve around computers. ![]() Also, my posture is really terrible. I've been trying to work on that lately. XD |
