| Hi folks, I have read soo many fabulous tutorials, reviews and tips on this site and they are being added by the community all the time, it gave me a crazy idea. What if we were to combine all these tips, tricks, reviews (AKA must have software) and tutorials into a book or a magazine every month or two, it could be an online magazine too - all the more fun, I could design it !Anyway, it's just a little idea that I had, but I think it could get pretty popular if we all keep this awesome work up. What do you think about the ideas of either 1 of the following: 1)Book 2)Monthly/2nd Monthly Magazine 3)Online Magazine that looks like a real magazine - just in HTML format. I think it would be awesome and we'd have a lot of readers out there, who knows, smack a couple of ads in, divide the money to the people who contribute - if it kicks off that is.

| When it comes to making websites, making a design that is supposed to look like something from the real world is rarely done with much success. The #1 most popular design on deviant art is such a design and is wonderfully executed! Although I would like to see some of your design work as you said you were into web development right? If such a thing is to take off, I think I'd be quite useful as a writer of reviews. I could still use some refining to make my posts sound a bit less like an ad for whatever I'm reviewing though. lol. | |

| Yeah some collab would be cool if we got the support. Or if not, why not start a project of our own? It'd be a great change of pace to work with someone else on a project. | |

| It'd be nice, but don't you think Xavier should be the one to approve of it? It IS his site, you know :S But I am totally for it, I love reading compiled news!!! <3 We should make like a monthly serialized online magazine so we're not TOTALLY swamped with stuff, it's easier to manage, we might actually get some ad money to support the website, and web archives are always useful ![]()

| Hey guys, love the idea of doing a collaborative project with some of the forum members. I'm not sure if a book would be the best format. What do you think about taking some of the best entries and putting them on the home page of Notebooks.com?

| SWEET! So we all like the idea! Awesome, I was working on a website design whether we would use it or not, at school today, it needs a heck of a lot of work on it, but I will upload a png as soon as I can ![]() Glad we all like the idea, it's better when ALL the participants like the idea! Also, Xavier, sure, the "Tutorial" section and the home page would also work quite well IMO.

It's kind of nice being here at the start of a forum like this though. Be interesting to see how things go. Edit: Just wanted to mention AListApart, an online web magazine, as a bit of an example of what a web magazine looks like. Tis a very fancy site that I've been reading for years. Great articles for web devs. Have you heard of it Chris? Last edited by Vipralion; 05-26-2008 at 08:15 AM. | ||
