| My favorite download manager is the GetRight Download Manager. Back when I had dialup this really helped me download all the files I needed. The main reason I used it was because it allowed me to pause and resume downloads. As a dialup user this helped me to download big files through the pause/resume feature. When I was a dialup user, my downloads also crashed sometimes because I got disconnected whenever I received a phone call. This made me lose the big downloads! When I used GetRight, it allowed me to recover the downloads from the part that they crashed, and continue downloading the rest of the files. Apart from the paus/resume feature, I also love the user interface of this program. It's nice, clean, and very easy to use.

| While I was still in high school with dial up and my transition to DSL, I had used Download Accelerator. I used it all the time until Firefox 2.0 came out and came with an internalized download manager. Although I may not be able to regulate my download speeds it's still a very nice feature. Both allow me to pause a download and continue the data transfer at a later time. Quote:

| FlashGet refuses to download ANYTHING for me T_T I actually use Free Download Manager when I absolutely have to, download accelerators never really do anything but throttle my speed <_<

| I am personally happy with firefox's in-built download manager, I just wish they could pick up from where it stopped when my internet connection disconnects - everytime somebody calls the home phone .Though, for any command prompt/shell/terminal fans out there, my mate tau recommended this program to me: wget. Yes, the interface isn't too flashy - it's shell, but it works like a charm and picks up from a download that has disconnected, I use this on big downloads now. After you type in wget "http://www.WEBSITE.com/FILE.exe" (with quotes) and if it disconnects, or freezes, stalls etc. You hit ctrl+c (to cancel) and then do this - wget -c "http://www.WEBSITE.com/FILE.exe" and that will allow you to continue (-c) make sure to obviously excahnge the url for your file url. Note, wget does try to restart the download by it's self, but sometimes you need to do it manually. Thanks to tau for the awesome recomendation!

I've actually been using FF Beta's since February, I LOVE what firefox 3 is going to be, it's great to see that with the zoom feature you can see at different standard resolutions how the website is going to look, eg ctrl++ will allow you to zoom in from lets say a 10280 x 1024 to a 1024 x 768 size resolution, all the way down to what it would look on a mobile phone. Absolutely GREAT for developers! Anyway, back onto the topic, I'll try DownloadThemAll, I used to use that AGES ago and I can't remember how I liked it, so thanks for the reminder Vipralion ![]()

| I know, FIREFOX RC1 IS FTW!!! Although it's a pity Ubuntu doesn't have a package for it yet, still only 3b5 ![]() I've used the beta since March, before that the betas had some kinda weird issue and my Internet became unstable every few minutes and I would have to restart. DownloadThemAll... I tried that before except I didn't like it. I had to keep the window open otherwise everything stops. Bad for someone who has 5+ memory intensive programs running at once, lol.
