| CrossLoop is a small piece of software that allows two people on different computers to easily, almost effortlessly, connect to eachother to share one or the other's screen, and actually take control of it to perform installations, repairs, troubleshooting, etc. The great thing about the software is that it really is effortless. It easily passes through firewalls and what not to provide a solid connection. The response, the feel of it is also quite snappy provided you're on a decent enough connection as the software will actually strip out high bit colors to maximize performance. All that's needed to connect to someone is their access code, and for them to allow you access. Control is provided to the person accessing but can be revoked at anytime by clicking the mouse. The software works in conjunction with its website, CrossLoop - Simple, secure screen-sharing and trusted experts for computer help, to provide a service to help in finding someone who can help you with your computer problems. Some charge for their services while others will gladly help you for free. Or, if you're the technical person, you can easily create a profile and provide your services for free or for a fee. At the present, the service and software are both completely free and look to remain that way for at least the near future. Overall, it's a great experience in getting computer help from people who can really help you! | |

| Hi Buddy! Couldnt help but notice your post! I tried using crossloop because I am generally the one trying to give "assistance" to people! This application was ok. Although it was free, there were alternatives which were much better, faster, easier to use and at the same fantastic price of free! The most irritating thing about crossloop was that I needed that authentication code everytime i wanted to connect. What if i have a slow connection? What if i need to disconnect at my end? what if there is a connection disruption? In the end, he will use an IM to send that code, and chances are that he will be using MSN Messenger.....and as far as I know, Messenger itself has the capability to request for online help from others! So I suggest you keep it simple and use LogMeIn! It's amazing! Search the forums for the detailed post I made about LogMeIn elsewhere! Cheers and practice safe computing! Reevester |

The authentication helps keep the connection secure! Just like LogMeIn requires you to enter in the remote computers Username and Password, CrossLoop's authentication requires you to enter in an authentication code. LogMeIn is good, but some people can't afford their service. That's the reason why other software like CrossLoop, TightVNC or UltraVNC are better alternatives.

| I'd agree with that if only MSN wasn't so slow to connect and completely unable to do so if either computer is tied to a network. It's one access code. If you're going to provide assistance to others I'd like to hope that you could at least manage that, else let others do so. CrossLoop. Simple, no configuration, only a single access code to remember. ![]() Last edited by Vipralion; 05-24-2008 at 03:43 AM. | |

| Nice... I've heard about these kinds of things before except I never really tried them, and they were expensive. I'll be trying this out, thanks Vipralion >_^ (Why are all my friends so insufficient at computers XD)
