| I didn't see this posted anywhere yet and I think this is something to be discussed. Personally I like both browsers, but I'm a bit more acquainted with Internet Explorer. So reviews! Based on your personal preference, which browser do you like better? Both seem to have advantages over another, and disadvantages that the other lacks. EDIT: it seems I've left out a browser! How about Safari? I've actually just heard of it yesterday lol, so I haven't yet had the chance to try it out Last edited by sharkhead7854; 05-23-2008 at 09:18 AM. |

| Although most browsers have come to the same similar user interface, when the new Firefox came out with pop-up blocker it had become a miracle. It's tab feature which many other browsers have adopted is always great and it's also nice that it comes with it's own miniature download manager. Now I can't saw much about the recently release Internet Explorer except for it's updated graphically enhanced user interface and tabs feature, but it definitely does look alright. On another note, I've tried Safari. It feels like I'm travelling the internet through my iTunes. Although what is cool about it is it's ability to render pixelated font to look smooth on display. I leave it up to the actual users of Internet Explorer and Safari to give their piece about the other internet browsers. Quote:

| Firefox FTW! Rendering CSS on IE is like hell for both the user and the designer (I ahve troubles all the time, every browser works except for bloody IE 6/7) they only support about 55% of the CSS standards. Firefox goes by about 92% Opera 95% Speed is much better on FF 3 RC1 Security, FF is MUCH MUCH better, customization ability goes to Firefox too, they have a brilliant community. The list goes on and on.

| Why is this topic just about Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer? There are many other browsers out there besides Firefox and Internet Explorer. Opera, Avant Browser, Netscape, and Safari, just to name a few. People have their own choices. Firefox is ultimately the best one! The main features I like about it is that it's open source, it has tabbed browsing, it's very customizable, you can add a lot of great add-ons, and it renders pages quicker for me than in Internet Explorer. I also like the fact that updates are released much more often for Firefox than for Internet Explorer!

j/k) rendering engine, so I personally don't like it.It is manly the rendering engine that I hate about Internet Explorer. Opera is AWESOME too, here is my order of preferred from most to least BTW, didn't Netscape die a few years ago? I thought they stopped development and support for it. 1)Fire Fox 2)Opera (I really can't decide which one I like better, Opera or FF) 3)Flock (yes, based on firefox, but i dont like the interface as much as Opera) 4)Safari 5)Internet Explorer I wish Opera moved the sidebar toolbar, unless, is there a way to move that bar to the top so its like buttons in the toolbar at the top?

| Though Internet Explorer 6 really slacked when it came to web standards compatibility, especially with CSS, IE7 definitely made quite a number of improvements while playing feature catch-up with tabbed browsing among other features. However, after havnig beta tested the web developer beta of IE8 since early March when it was released/announced at Mix08, I definitely gotta say that the IE team at Microsoft has made great progress. Web standards are now the focus and the browser even passes the Acid 2 test which tests for compliance with the CSS 2.1 spec. Firefox 3 has shown great progress as it has gone from alpha, to beta, and now into RC1. The smart bookmarks features are great to use and make things just that much smoother. The interface improvements also make the browser even better. Add on top of that the Mozilla community developing plug-ins, as well as the improvements in Javascript performance, Firefox definitely is still the strongest competitor against the still popular IE, and with good reason. Safari has become pretty stable and very quick with a few updates since first becoming available on Windows. At first it was rather bug-filled but most of those issues have been addressed and Safari has for the most part, been a quick and clean browser to use. No where near the amount of features as either IE8 or FF3 however. Opera, the mobile warrior of browsers. Believe it or not, Firefox wasn't the first to have tabbed browsing. Much innovation in the browsers of today can be traced back to Opera. Yet, in my experience, with the amazing features, it has the tendency to crash more often than any of the other 3 browsers I've mentioned. I'm not sure if it's my browsing habits or what but it's just not stable enough for me to use regularly. As for any other browsers, there's not much hope for them to become much more than alternatives for a very tiny percentage of web surfers. IE still dominates the market, and only Firefox has really had the power to up its market share against the long standing browser. I can vouch for all of what I say as I typically have IE, FF, and Safari open with at least 5 tabs open in each at any one time. I just seem to have a habit of doing lots of things at once. Hehe. That and the part where I love the web, am a web developer/designer, and enjoy the latest tech/gaming news. | |

| Mozilla is indeed one of best free web broswer availabe in interent. (as my point of view, just to avoid big fight here ). Apple has launched safari web browser for window user also (to caputre some of web browser market). I have installed it in my laptop and it works pretty good. its much more faster than IE7 & Mozilla 2. I haven't compared Mozilla 3.0 speed with Safari. But i will let you know and will display the result in this forum. |

Also, I don't think we are having a fight, we are just discussing each others views. It's always good to have different opinions, otherwise this world would be very boring.Anyway, Firefox 3 FTW! I love it, VERY fast, secure and just perfect all round!
