In Belgium (West-Europe), you don't see much IBM products. Most popular brands are HP, Dell and ASUS.

That's a nice deal. I've been looking to purchase my mother a pc and get her savvy with technology. She works too hard and she'd be mad if I bought her an expensive piece of nothing. Once I save up she'll be getting one. Thank you for the reference, Xavier.

Daniel, I really like the ThinkPad T series for business use. It's pretty durable and great for basics/business, but it's not so good for entertainment/movies and such.

It rally depends on how she uses it. If you're on a budget, look at the R61 series. They're even cheaper and very similar to the T series, but are a little thicker.
