| VMware - better than Parallels and can be used on linux, windows AND mac If I only had a choice out of those two, parallels would be better for what I want to use it for. |

| I think parallels looks fantastic. Though I dont think it will ever have the same compatibility as a a pc. I was looking into parallels for my mac to do simple things that my mac can't do - like work with my printer or use a site that requires internet explorer, then I found a "not too old" XP laptop for under $100 on Craigslist. It was the best option for me. We also keep it on 24/7 and use it as a server/printer server for the office. Im sure a desk top pc would be even cheaper - get one of those and use a switcher to allow you to use the same monitor. I just picked up a used dual core media center pc computer (open box special) from Circuit City for $169 I keep that hooked up to my tv. These boxes ae cheap these days and cost about the same as parallels. |

| no, I mean back in 1995 apple signed a deal with microsoft to have some of MS's apps on the mac, they used to have Internet explorer as the default, when the contract expired, they made safari. If there are any IE's out there on the mac, they POSSIBLY are outdated, I don't know whether MS develops it for the Mac anymore. Parallels should allow you to run IE in the Mac interface though

| Yeah, I think it was to help Apple get back onto their feet after all those rough times back in the 80s/90s
