| this laptop will change my life dramastically because, first of i am a college student with no tv or my own computer to use,i have to use my mother's computer for assignements or projects i receive from class, which means i never have anytime to enjoy just browsing the internet because of the high demand for the computer after i finish my school work, never owned a laptop before, but worked on a few in my life which made me envious and wish i had the money for one, another reason is i am a big gamer, and since i don't have my own tv or computer i had to decrease the time i play games (demand for the computer). since my major is business management i need something that can hold my spreadsheets, my company information, etc. look, i know their may be entries that are worse that mine but i promise u, if i were to win this laptop i would use it to its full potential everyday. i believe this laptop was made for me. thanks in advance |

| For a number of years I have been working as freelance web designer, using what ever low end computer I could get my hands on. About three years ago, after an injury that has left me mildly but permently disabled, I returned to university to study Communication Design. My freelance work is what covers the bills not covered by Finacial aid and student loans, so having the power of this computer would vastly improve my work flow, both for class assignments and design work. This computer has just the kind of attributes I need in a computer. The entertainment abilities would be a nice bonus. Games and movies to blow off a little steam at the end of the day or while I am monitoring the computer lab where I work for my work study money would make things a little more fun. In short, my computer is my life and the better the computer, the better I can make my life. I am also a big fan of HP's products. All of my present computer equipment, as well as my digital camera, are all from HP, as is the printer on my wife's Mac. I am very familier with the quality of the products and if I had access to more of their products I would love to write about them for any website that would publish me. |

| When I first heard about this contest, I was estactic that I may get a chance to win this amazing computer. Let me tell you a little bit about myself: I am a student who has just finished high school and is getting ready for college. I volenteer with some of my friends at our local community center on Mondays and Wednesdays helping needy elementary children learn the basics of reading and writing. I do alot of non-profit web design in my spare time, the most prominent being www.georgetowncruising.com. The laptop I have now is nearing its life-span and I have been waiting for Memorial Day to hopefully get a discount on an HP, Dell, or Toshiba laptop. Winning this computer will help me in more ways than I could dream of. With it, I will be able to continue my studies, save money for college, and continue to serve my community. I have been saving money for quite some time to get my Private Pilots licence this summer. With this top of the line computer, I will be able to finally run Flight Simulator X without having to reduce the graphics so low on my computer that it looks like a movie from the mid 1900's. To be honest, I had never been a regular of notebooks.com. Since this HP Competition, however, this collective of sites has opened my up to a vast expanse of information and help. Keep watching out, I'm sure you'll see me around the forums! tascrafts tascrafts.com/blog | |

| This computer will help me do my school work better, I currently own a old HP Omnibook with Windows ME running on it but it's gets the job done sometimes, This was my dads first computer and he pass it along to my sisters and my bother and know it's mine, This thing os so slow, right know i'm trying to save up for a new laptop, So that I can use Adobe Photoshop or CS3, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office, wordPerfect, See I have to use my dads computer when he's not on it to use Photoshop because my computer can't run it, I must admit that if I win this HP HDX will not only be use for school but also gaming, and watching movies on the go, but mostly it will be use for School work. My friends are giving me a hard time because I have such a old computer but i'm not rich like thay are, My friends parents buys them what ever thay want but my parents want me to work for it and earn it, i've been putting money away for 2 years and still I don't have enough to get a decent laptop that will last me for years to come, So I hope get a chance to own this HDX Laptop it will mean the world to me, Thank You |

| From the moment I laid eyes on this beast I knew I was smitten. From its clean lines to its integrated touches I know deep down inside I have met my first true system, the HP Pavilion HDX Entertainment PC. The ‘Dragon’ as they call it, defines perfection in many ways, there are no losses but consistent gains. A complete desktop that fits the needs of an individual like me who wants it all but refuses to be shackled to their desktop. ‘Dragon’ personifies mobility and power that will surely be the life of the party wherever I go. If I ever saw a computer for the 21st century or defining example of the near future in computing, this is it! What makes the HP Pavilion HDX Entertainment PC so great? Is it the immersive 20.1 diagonal WUXGA High-Definition HP Ultra Brightview widescreen? Is it the monster Intel Core 2 Extreme X9000? Is it the mind boggling 4 GBs of DDR2 System Memory? The gamers’ heavenly bliss 512 MB NVIDIA Geforce 8800M GTS or the store your entire life 500 GB SATA Hard drive? It’s all of that and more! The fact that Dragon exudes productivity, I will finally have interest in doing work and meeting those deadlines, the fact that it comes with the latest and greatest from Microsoft (Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit and Office 2007) is more than enough incentive to put on a shirt and tie. The HP Pavilion HDX Entertainment PC comes ready out of the box to meet a variety of needs. For me personally it’s the synergy that will be created between the two us, the ability to work in harmony and as a team to accomplish the goals I aim for, whether it’s typing a thesis or blowing up the planet and bringing complete order to the galaxy with a magnificent finish in one of my favourite games. Productivity and Gaming are core features built in; the processor, the video card, memory and screen all make this a complete system, but HP has gone far beyond that in many ways. Software is a critical component and when I look into the array of choices that come bundled with the HP HDX Entertainment PC I know I have stumbled upon something truly awesome. I am going to admit I do have my coach potato moments and HP made it even more comfy with a fantastic set of movies such as Pirates of the Caribbean, but what makes it even better is they are Blu-Ray DVDs that will bring the movie theater experience into my living room with 1080p goodness. When I want to get intense and do major battle, Gear of War is there to get me intensified and ready for battle in addition to Flight Simulator X series for persons like me who have had the buzz for the cock pit more than a few times. Creating memories is something I have a passion for, when family and friends are over or for those times I have traveled to faraway places on the island or abroad. Pictures, videos, music; Dragon not only provides a platform for creativity but a personal repository for managing and sharing my digital memories. Hey, with 500 GBs of storage, I should not be seeing any ‘you are running low on hard disk space’ anytime soon. Only words can describe what a magnificent package Hewlett Packard has put together. It’s my time to be the center of attention and envy of all; the ‘Dragon’ magnifies this opportunity. I completely and wholeheartedly know this is the system to make ‘my digital world a better place’. It’s not about the fundamentals, it’s about life changing experiences and the HP HDX ‘Dragon’ gets me ready for it. Last edited by adacosta; 05-18-2008 at 07:02 PM. |

| I think i deserve the HP HDX Dragon because i think it may have the potential to change my life. Ever since i was a small kid (or smaller than i was now) i've been amazed by technology, and cameras mostly. So last year i saved up all the cash i could but still realising i was short of cash i went desperate and offered to load up custom firmware on a few of my freinds PSPs and mod a few of my fellow freinds phones for a very small reasonable fee which they were very willing to pay. Well anyway, i finally got enough money to buy myself my very own Canon EOS 40D, my baby, my pride, and hopefully soon my destany. So i've had it for a short while but my family isnt the richest so i've never really had the chance to buy and image editors or buy a new PC for it to run on. And thats where the HP HDX Dragon comes in. I think it has the potential to change my life, give me a chance to become a profesional Photographer and make a living that way. And also be happy doing the thing i love. Also when i leave my parents house i certainly wont have the chance to afford myself a PC or let alone a TV, Game console or anything for entertainment. Which is a complete shame as i really got into playing COD4 round a mates house. Well thats my story i suppose. Good luck to everyone ![]() |

It seems to me that the purpose of this give away is to provide a machine not only to someone who needs it but also to provide the machine to someone who can and will promote HP. Based on that it looks to me like Ric_Knight is an excellent candidate for just those reasons. He has clearly outlined his need and how he will utilize the machine and he has already expressed a preference for HP products and a willingness to promote HP products.

I speak as hopefully more than just me when i say this but out of all the people on this site nobody deserves this more than this guy

| An old 12 inch Ibook laptop, which I got used, is the laptop I presently use, circa 2000. It is 366 megahertz with 192 megs of ram and a 10 gig hard drive. The battery died about 3 years ago, so its not really portable any more unless you take the power cord along :electrical tape on the end of the power cord. I have a 20 gig external harddrive. It is usb 1.0 and 2.0, however the Ibook is only usb 1.0, so transferring files takes forever. It doesn’t have a firewire port. I currently use my Ibook to create a newsletter for a local artist group called “The Gathering Artists”. I also use my Ibook to help me zoom in on detail while I do “watercolor portraits”. I also surf the web with my Ibook. As you may imagine, a 366mhz machine takes forever to do any of these tasks. I can run photoshop, but it is extremely slow. Youtube is very jerky. So, as you see, I could really take advantage of the power of the HP Dragon. My son would also love it for the great games he would be able to play. Blu-Ray…Wow. Intel Core 2 Extreme Processor would bring me into the digital age with style. My son says he will frag you all for free if he could play “gears of war”. Thanks |
