Default Why I should win the laptop.

To tell you the truth no one realy NEEDS this laptop. What i mean is that no one needs the ability to play games like crysis or COD. I can see someone needing a laptop for there job, a laptop that can sent e-mails and search the web, but not a laptop like this one. This laptop is insane!

My computer: a ten year old Dell is quickly falling apart. One of my RAM sticks just plainly stopped working, and the guy at tech support said the other one is not to far behind.Like right now im running on less than 200mb or ram. Even the text that im typing right now is lagging. Well anyway my point is that I don't really need this laptop, but for sure i need another computer. I simply don't have the money for another, im broke as it is.

My dream is to create computer games and software and even some day create my own company, but that dream is fading fast. I've just lost the effort.

TY for reading this and sorry for any miss spellings.

Bernardakins most definately deserves this laptop.
Mainly because he needs a decent laptop for college, but he can't really afford one right now.
By giving him the dragon, it will greatly help him save money for college.
Also, if you read his post, you can clearly see that Joey has not had a decent computer EVER.
So, basically, I think you should give Joey the laptop, because he is an awesome person
who deserves an awesome laptop.

Default What I Would Do With My Note Book

Although I do have a computer myself (Dell XPS 400) I feel I don't get much of a good feeling out of it. The first thing when I read about this contest I was so surprised and thought, "I should try out for this contest, I mean I could have a slight chance of winning and that slight chance might actually happen." I can tell that this is a contest where there is no scamming involved too because I can see that there are rules and many viewers have registered for this so, there will be no chance of having to be commiting a crime.

If I had this notebook, I'd be able to work on school work, video editing, watch movies and store some music and such, since my current computer hold only 75 gb of memory. Back when I had it was around... 2005 I'm guessing about? Anyways yes, I will most certainly work on schoolwork with this laptop, my xps doesn't provide Microsoft Office or any word editing software, I used to but I can't find it anywhere. Video editing because I love making my own movies and using video editing software, I like martial arts so it will advance the movie making by a lot. I love watching movies on my computer but it cannot play DVDs I have to use realplayer or K-Lite Codec Pack to play the dvd. And seeing all the space I have used I feel I won't have enough room for a lot of the music that I desire, so I keep the music to a minimum on my computer. Friends at my school find me tech savy... I for sure need this for the purposes and my computer is pretty slow. I will most definately use it when I am going to high school and college, seeing that $5100 won't fail on me by the years. I own a ps2, psp, 15' Flat panel haven't used in a while and a XPS 400 desktop.

I find the specifications amazing 4GB DDR2 System Memory, that is a lot of ram, amazing, this will make the performance and multitasking a lot easier and less troublesome. Having it that fast will be easy to close out with out having any errors from closing so many windows at once. Finger print, awesome, I don't need to have any thieves going into my computer, now it is finger print detected so the security is outstanding. I am interested in pirates of the carribean so I will be having a blast watching movies on a blu ray disc drive. I know that the blu ray is expensive so I wouldn't need to spend a lot of money for a ps3 or a blu ray player since its going to make its way to the market and rule over hd. I also like gaming so gears of war would be an awesome first person shooter to play on vista.

I am positive that I will be using it for the purposes written in my entry.

Current Computer Specifications:

Microsoft Windows XP
Home Media Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 2

Intel (R)
Pentium (R) 4 CPU 3.20GHZ
3.19, 512mb of RAM

School and Site of where I am posting work and using for school:
folio.stonington.org/wlau

Note* This site was made like a couple of weeks ago and I have been testing so you might just see 2 pieces of work posted. Everyone in my school in the 8th grade has this to keep in touch in school.

I have some friends of which where I have talked to about this contest:

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...cellx/Aim3.jpg

Hopefully I will win, If I win I will be making a video with the current laptop software provided.

Yay pet rescue! Booo giant vet bills.) She's going for disability pay because she's been developing some pretty severe health problems lately. I'll be starting college this fall, Majoring in Asian Languages and Minoring in some form of Comp Sci. The dragon would be very useful for that second one! This is the first generation of my family to go to college. My sister is already attending.

Anyway, with a single, unemployed parent, money is pretty tight. I've loved computers since I was very little but we couldn't afford to get one until a just a few years ago. (P1/64MB/1.18GBHDD) We've upgraded here and there since then, but the few systems we have around the house are all getting on in years and are very, very, frustrating sometimes.

I have *never* owned a new computer or television. The desktop that I'm typing this on was a budget model from a local computer store. My TV is from 1977. (I can't play games on it because the picture bounces when the signal is coming through A/V cables, and it only gets 21 channels! That DVD player you see in the picture that I'm putting in with my post belongs to my little brother. The VCR/DVD combo is completely broken.) I'm trying to get a new laptop for college, but at this point it looks like I'll have to use student loans or something along those lines to pay for it. (Planning to study abroad at some point. This is going to be so expensive. ><)

Also it's *very* hard to get a job here. At least, one that pays more than minimum wage with any sort of benefits! (Since I can't afford health insurance.) I've been looking forever![/backstory]

I would love a new computer like this so much, you don't even know. It would be so nice to be able to watch HD video on it or play games. All of our current systems have integrated video only, so that's pretty much impossible. I would never in a million years be able to afford this. XD;

Various ways this thing is really, really spiffy:

The Screen + Blu-Ray drive + speakers-- Wow that's a humongous screen, which is nice. I have something like 20/1400 (Pretty sure that's considered legally blind, folks.) vision without my glasses and even with them I still have poor vision. All that room is a definite plus. The Blu-Ray player looks so awesome! We don't have one, and I can just picture my TV playing HD stuff. The speakers look really nice, too! I might just have to recycle my TV if I get this and use it as my primary TV. XDD
I also like to doodle a lot and that screen + my wacom tablet (4x5 graphire I think?) = <3

Games – I've never really been able to play computer games outside of solitaire, and there are more than just a few that my brothers and I would love to try. (This can play Crysis! That looks so shiny...) I've had the chance to fiddle around with a computer with a video card somewhat similar (If a bit slower than) the one on this when I spent the summer of 05' volunteering at a computer store to get some experience there. The owner of the store let me try out a few games and things on it. That was so spiffy. D=

The processor – Holy cow that looks fast. *_*; ::drools all over himself::

The hard drive – 500GB! That's more than all of the working ones in the house put together and doubled! Having space like that would be nice. =D

All of that software + the movies – Whoo pirates! I went to see the third one right after I got my hard contacts and had them switched by accident. I missed a lot of the movie because of that. XDD
It would be nice to see it again~ Also, that software looks nice~

Sorry that I was so long winded. Here are some pictures! Sorry if they're blurry.

I believe Joey deserves the computer since he loves tech stuff. He's going into college soon and with the current hardware he's got, I don't think he'd have an easy time. Plus, trying to upgrade or get a better system would most likely get him into student debt that he doesn't need at the moment. At his current hardware, I'd go crazy. They're like some of the old laptops that I have at my school and I think those are junk. I hope you consider Joey a winner for the marvelous piece of hardware.

Bernardakins seriously deserves to win this laptop.

With the his current laptop, he is hardly able to do any work that is needed of him. And with college coming up for him, he is definitely in need of something that actually allows him to do things.

Being who he is, and how he loves technology, it must be killer not being able to even watch something as simple as a Youtube video in fullscreen.

If Joseph was able to win this laptop, I'm sure he would be able to excel in college a lot easier than what he is able to do at the moment. Especially with his current financial state, there is no way he would ever see anything like the Dragon.

So consider Bernardakins for the winner of the Dragon Notebook.

As one who had the fortune of getting my own laptop computer for use when she started her university education, I'd like to extend the opportunity to a good friend of mine, Bernardakins/Joey (as quoted above). I've always respected Joey as a very hard worker, and he's such a nice person to talk to. I've talked to plenty of uptight men in my experiences, and Bernardakins is anything but that! He's given generous support to me through purchasing some of my freelance art as celebratory gifts for others, which to me shows how kind and caring he is to others. He doesn't take things selfishly, not at all.
There needs to be more guys like Bernardakins. I really wish the best for him and his future, so I sincerely ask for you to consider Bernardakins for the winner of the Dragon Notebook.

I also think Bernardakins/Joey should win the computer. As Splash mentioned, he is definitely one of the most compassionate person in the world. I remember when i first talked to him, he always greeted me with a warm welcome. I've seen him be kind to people and always kind. He is also always willing to help anyone. His laptop and desktop are ancient, and he definitely deserves a better one for himself, with him going to college this fall and all.

I know I can always count on Joey for anything, he has helped me alot, one way being with Photoshop and Video editing. He is really talented with Photoshop, and he should be given the chance to take his knowledge of images and computers to a different level.

I can always count on Joey's help, after all he is going to be looking for a nice laptop for me to buy, i wouldn't trust anyone but him on it. But he shouldn't just watch me get a nice new one, he should also too.

I hope you guys give him the opportunity, he really deserves it.

Wow, this is an awesome computer. I couldn't think of anyone else for it to go to (besides me, but I already bought a new one!) other than Bernardakins!

From all the time I've known him, he's been awesome and loves his computers. It makes me sad that he hasn't ever had a new one. He totally deserves this. GO BERNARDAKINS!
