Just looking at his post you can tell he is dedicated but not only that he is going to put it to a good use but not just for himself, he is not being selfish. He needs it to make all of his awesome youtube videos that make people laugh and entertain them and also tutorials and I'm confident that all of you have not been able to do something and though "I really wish there was a user-friendly tutorial for this" you have ALL been there. If ChrisTheFeral gets this then he can makes 100's of various video tutorials for tons and tons of different things such as adobe software, Video editing, How to make sigs and so much more I cannot possibly continue to name all the possibilties. Also he's a nice guy and his post is very well presented to show dertemination and how much he actually needs it. I really hope you get it Chris because you well and truely deserve this as it would be a grand opportunity to helps 100,000's of youtube users everwhere and not just 'help yourself'. My post in a nutshell : ChrisTheFeral has vast computer knownledge so he can make most tutorials on request which will build up the amount of tutorials he has so he will have ones he makes and ones requested. He makes great videos and has great video editing skills so it will not be sucky videos like you see on youtube but top quality but they could be improved by a great amount with this HP they could be so much better and I know they will be. He is a good guy and this will not only help him but 100,000's of youtube users everywhere. Thank you and good luck ChrisTheFeral!

As for Joey himself, he's a wonderful young man with a cheerful demeanor, a positive nature, and a strong spirit. Giving him this laptop would be an act of generosity with wide-reaching effects in life and the lives of family and friends.

| The HP HDX Dragon, and why I want it. I am a student. I am absolutely intrigued by all things technology. I live it, I love it. For so long have I been fascinated by the latest technology has to offer from gadgets and hardware to software and services. It's what I spend my time learning about, reading the latest news about, and doing my best to utilize all the technology that is available in a way that makes me productive, gives me the best entertainment experience, and keeps me connected. For the longest time I was stuck with an old computer running Windows 98se, a 500 mhz processor, and 256mb of ram (was 160 until I nabbed a stick of ram from an old computer, hehehe). I did my best to manage without internet access (using a 128mb flash drive to move files between computers at school and the public library to my home computer) and did quite well in learning PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, etc. So about 2 years ago I'm getting everything done for college. I planned on working towards a degree in computer science. What REALLY got me excited about school was the fact that the college (which I had somehow always known I would attend since I was in middle school) was implementing a Tablet PC program for all incoming freshmen. It was amazing! I remember using my old computer (which still was pretty awesome for not having ever been formatted with a fresh install of Windows in YEARS) up until late August, checking the specs of the tablet, and almost drooling! Lol. So college came, and after 2 years of classes, most of which were gen. ed. classes that no matter how much I know I don't need, I still have to take anyway, I finally realized that a computer science degree wasn't what I wanted. Learning C++ would not be of much use to me as I realized I wanted to, and would most definitely be a web developer. I was tired of spending time doing oddball assignments when what I really wanted to do was design, develop, and maintain websites. The point being, that now that I will be withdrawing, and looking to enroll in a degree with an emphasis on web dev, I'll not have my awesome notebook anymore. This thing has become my life, as much as my old computer was. Oddly enough, I still have my old computer. It's still fully functioning and my brothers use it for general internet surfing. :P So as you can see, this is the "Why I deserve" part of my entry. My computer is my life, and though that is about to be taken away, I'm hoping to change that with a dash of luck in this contest. ![]() -- And now for the life-changing event! As I said, I love technology. I am a gamer. I am a music lover (my Zune profile). I am a movie lover. I am a web developer/designer. I am a total technology enthusiast. I absolutely enjoy it all. I sit at my computer, and I design websites using Photoshop and Expression Studio. I then move on to slicing and coding everything by hand because that's just the way I like doing things. The Dragon will enable me to do this with so much more ease! I absolutely love multitasking and with the power of this machine, not even the modestly spec'ed desktop I've been wanting to buy forever but never seem to have the cash for, can compare. It's just so much more productive to have the applications I need open all at once and with the power of the Dragon, it's very much possible. VS2008, Expression, Zune, SUPER, and all the other great software I use, all running smoothly, is a dream! Probably 2/3's of the bookmarks I have are for tech sites and web design/development sites. Oh and don't get me wrong, I'm definitely not a work-aholic (though I seem to have been for the past two weeks lol). I am a gamer. I own an Xbox 360 AND PlayStation 3 thanks to a great research opportunity last summer (developing from start to completion, a website showcasing the program). What's missing? The PC Gaming platform. Sure WoW would be nice to play on high settings but what I really want to be ready for is StarCraft 2. Let's not forget all the other PC games I've been wanting to play from Supreme Commander to all the FPS titles that are only available on PC. And being the enthusiast I am, definitely won't mind being able to create some maps for a few games I happen to enjoy very much! Movies, Music, and Television. I've absolutely no problem sitting back and enjoying the great media content available today. I've purchases a few movies on Blu-Ray but I can tell you now, nothing will compare to watching them on that gorgeous 20.1" screen in 1080p. Sure, my PS3 can handle it, but I don't have a 1080p TV! The fact that this notebook is more powerful then what I was looking at to be my desktop computer, and has a larger screen then my 19" LCD is just amazing. And they call it a NOTEBOOK! How amazing will it be to listen to all my music through this? Amazing! Watching TV?!? Oh! I forgot the built in HDTV tuner! Wow. Combine my cable tv with the Dragon and Media Center and tada! I'll never need anything else for years to come! And when it comes to family, finally a chance to implement some user accounts so my mom can really experience what technology has to offer. As much as I'd like to be, I can't be on the computer all the time, and I suppose I wouldn't want to be ( I like to be active! ), there will be plenty of time for my family to enjoy when I'm away. Eventually, once I get a steady job going, I'd like to buy my mom a Zune. Be nice to sync up and use my Zune pass. Hehe. CD's are a thing of the past! Digital media wins!I mean... wow. There are so many features of this beast. And the best part? I will definitely take advantage of them all. By the way, Google "Vipralion". I've been around the net for awhile. Tech sites, gaming sites, galore! I won't disappear on ya's! Edit: LOL! Didn't realize it was so long... then again, you asked for substantial! And to really show my desire to win this contest, I've constructed a fully working web page presenting my "3 Prong Approach to Maximizing Full Enjoyment of the HP HDX Dragon Notebook." It's taken me quite a few hours, but I thought what better way to show my enthusiasm to win the Dragon then doing what I do best? I hope you like it!! Vipralion.net/dragon I've only had the time to test it in Firefox2/3, IE7, and Safari 3. Code is also valid XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS 2.1!! Woot woot! Last edited by Vipralion; 05-23-2008 at 01:24 PM.
