Even so, it shouldn't mean I am out of the contest when HP was at fault...

Anyway, this is not the place to argue, it is obvious that my current HP came faulty and the bottom line is, I need a good computer to do my work and try and set up my company, you shouldn't say things to try and get people kicked out of the contest (at least, it comes across to me that way - it seems you are just trying to eliminate me for some reason) you should vote for the person who you think needs the computer and would actually use it to their full advantage (ie, me)

Yes, HP were at fault the first time, no I don't have the money for a new computer, it is too late to talk to HP now as it is a 5 year old computer and I think it is obvious I need and would use this powerful system, and give something back to the community - actually quite a lot considering I'd also be employing people.

Anyway, yes - I do "need a mac" - I can't afford one, this PC however is more powerful spec wise than the $3,500 mac I was looking at - the Dragon is a beast of a computer and to tell you the truth, I'd be using windows as well on a mac as the mac os. That said, this system would STILL be more powerful for what I am doing, the reason I was looking at a mac is because it's $1,500 cheaper. THIS DRAGON LAPTOP/PORTADESKTOP IS MY DREAM SYSTEM! It would help me so much in not just the life of me but many other people out there and I can imagine people at home setting my/our(?) companies products up in their house - I can imagine how happy they would be (you'd have to know my ideas to understand this)
I am aiming to build "bug-free" products and I can't even try creating a product with this pc that I have now (came out in 2002 I believe, I may be wrong)

If I won - my head would probably explode with excitement (I actually have a planned video for this in case I win, a lot more funny than my head exploding too.)

ya you said you will give them another shot with THIS laptop. and you have like 10 other vids which are against hp. I dont think hp would like to give the laptop away to people who dont appreciate them

10 Other videos? I had one that talked about them giving me faulty hardware and when it went into repair they put even older hardware in.
the other 3 are Why I Hate My PC videos, #1 was the keyboard deciding when it works, #2 was the weird errors I were getting (not HP) #3 was the afulty CD drive that came with the computer.

"I dont think hp would like to give the laptop away to people who dont appreciate them" - Their certified repairs ripped us off EXTREMELY badly - I am willing to give them another shot, it's jsut that my first experience with HP has been nothing but hell, I think personally seeing as I have an even older system than the one that we were overcharged by (not by HP, but by Harvey Norman) they SHOULD at least consider me for the computer. It seems as if I was right in the first post, you are really trying to get me kicked out of the competition.

You have to think about this, I need a computer so that I can try setting up this company I have been wanting to set up for years, my current HP computer can't help me out, I don't care so much for the brand - the computer will be put to its extremes, currently putting titles and music on my youtube videos is about as far as I can go to pushing my computer to it's limits. I need the ability to run CAD, Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere.

Now, as I said before, this is not the place to be arguing so I think we should leave it at this (though I will stand up for myself if I need to.)

I hope you understand the importance of this computer for my future, not all, but some entries people say they need it for gaming and what not, which is great but this would help me with my future and the future of MANY other people too. I hope that makes sense

Its a dell inspiron 2200. I LOVE photoshop and i use it at school almost every day. I skip lunch just to go to the media center and go play around with it. I feel really left out sometimes because my friends are always playing the new games like Call of Duty 4 and World in Conflict, and as much as i would like to i cant. My computer even freezes when i sometimes do some web search. Now some people say why dont you ask your parents for a new computer. But the thing is my parents work too hard for them to just almost throw away money for me so i dont even ask. My dad is a construction worker and my mom works in cleaning service both working from 6 am to over 8 pm. Being still young (15) almost 16, im getting interested in more and more things. I already know what i want to do when i get older. I want to be a computer engineer. but this laptop right now doesnt give me the chance to do anything and pursue it. I want to be that guy who you see on a plane with a tux and that 5,000 dollar laptop on the tray. As of now, ive been just doing lots of school work and on the weekends when my friends are going out to the movies, just staying at home learning a new language like (c++) or helping a friend. Ive fixed many friends computer and helped people with sites for free. This laptop would change my life around. I could finally be able to do what i always dreamed of and pursue my carreer. Play the latest games, watch the latest movies, or do something else crazy. Now all of the reviews say you wouldnt take this laptop with you, but if i won this, i dont care if it was the size of me, I would take it anywhere. I think ive gone crazy because i wake up in the middle of the night just to look at the specs again and the picture and actually realize these are being given away. Now do i want to win this??? YES! Thats why I am sitting here writting a 50 minute page essay why i want to and being active in forums to let you know that I would NEVER ditch notebooks.com, and use this computer to the fullest if I was a winner of this wonderfull machine. this guy really deservers this computer.. he cant even load youtube videos without getting stuck. hes a great fair guy wholl help anyone. and christhefarel, stop trying to deny that you think hp sucks. yes you should be considered but you are already able to do everything that you want with your old computer when some people cant even do anything.

no, im sorry im not argueing or anything, and im not trying to get you kicked out, definetly not because im a fair person. im just posting the facts. you always keep saying in every response that you will give them another try and you really need this. Ya i liked your story and you definetly should be considered, but you dont like hp and dont deny it. Plus you should be lucky already that you can even run things like dreamweawer and photoshop (maybe badly) but still, and i get problems with even internet browsing

ive known karolis (djeuro) since the 4th grade and hes been my best friend since. Hes always been a great guy but always into technology unlike me. He is very appreciative. If someone lends him a pencil, he would remember it for a month and keep thanking them for it. Hes never won anything cas hes lame. (no im jkkk) I really do pray to god he wins this, because hes getting a carreer into what he wants to do but has no machinery to do it. Good luck buddy!!!

Alright, that's good to hear.
But as for internet browsing, I also do have numerous problems, wordpress's admin panel crashes everytime I open it.

Also - EDIT: People are saying I do not deserve this because I can do this stuff on the PC I have now - that is because I am persistent and it takes me a hell of a long time to make these things due MAINLY to my slow CPU and graphics card - unlike some people who can afford to buy games if they win this, I can't even afford a GPU upgrade. I don't see how you can say that I don't deserve this when you haven't even used my computer, at least I'd be using this for my and many other peoples carers, not just for gaming and web dev.

I can run photoshop, really slowly yet I can still make better things than a lot of people can, does this mean I don't deserve it? No, it means that I am persistent and have motivation, as for after photoshop, this is where I am getting the problems with developing the websites, the content such as video editing, now you might say well I do a lot of videos and all that, but lets face it, they arne't that good and I have had numerous PM's for tutorial requests (I teach other people for free) but I can't do them well as my cpu overheats all the time and with screen capture, everything r-u-n-s s-l-o-w-l-y.

Now, as I said, I do not HATE HP computers, as for the videos that say that, I was referring to the experience that I have had.


I know this may come as a shock to you, but even MS Word has troubles on my computer.


And plus, at least I am trying to earn money to get a new computer even though I am failing. This computer would help so many people if it went to me because I would be employing people as well if my company gets set up - it just seems as if you are saying I and all the people I could employ don't matter because you have problems with web browsing.
My friends nokia N95 is more stable than my current PC with web browsing

I understand. I guess I should actually read your post on what you want to use the computer for. I just know that I have the motivation to start this company and I guess it's that I have been waiting for soo many years to start a company.

BTW, you aren't stating a fact when you say I hate HP - that's totally wrong
