I'm slightly disillusioned with HP ever since my roommate had a HP that broke after a month or two. Then again, he also broke his computer last year and had to get his newest one fixed already, so I suppose it's more of a question the roommate, not the company thing.
I heard today in Principles of Engineering how Japanese auto makers adopted standards of within 6 standard deviation (very, very low error allowed) that made US automakers attempt for the same reliability. It would be awesome if all technology was held to that standard.
