I am in the process of getting a Non-Profit Corp up and running. This Company will benefit families of children who have received an organ transplant. I realized the need for this Company last year when my daughter had to have a Liver Transplant. Although there are other Non-Profits out there that will help it was not enough. So I decided to find a way to help people in this situation. At the time I made this decision I still had my job. I was working as a System Admin for a wonderful company and many of my coworkers donated time so I could be at the hospital with my daughter. Their generosity just made me want to give back even more. Unfortunately there was a company wide layoff and because I was away so much I was a prime candidate for the layoff. There was nothing anyone could do about it. Since then money has been really tight and there has been limited money to get this company up an running. I have several professionals doing the work on this pro bono just because they see the need and want to help.
This laptop would provide equipment that i cannot afford but is desperately needed and it would be put to good use. I would use it for marketing, editing video of fundraising events, bookkeeping, broadcasting company updates, reaching families in need and contacting hospitals and other organizations to find ways to work together to provide assistance to those who need it.
