The VAIO SZ series is a great line of notebooks. I used one for about 6 months a year ago and was really happy with it.

The specs on this notebook are really good, but you might want to hold off for another month or two until Sony updates this line. Intel's Montevina platform is coming out, which means longer battery life and better hybrid graphics. One of the cool features of the SZ line is that you can switch between dedicated graphics (better video performance) and integrated graphics (better battery life). With the current models you have to restart to make the change, which really sucks. In the new line you'll be able to switch on the fly.
