Although I don't explore many of the options available to it, it has presented a couple new things that I like about it. The first thing is the new tabbing feature which allows multiple IMs to be placed in one window. It used to be before that there would be a seperate window for each person you talked to and that became a hassle really quickly. Good thing because after you network in college you end up talking to alot of people.
Of course though, they went through many different other features throughout the years. Buddy Icons, Video, Talk, Expression and now I guess you can play mini-games.
I've been with AIM for a very long time now. I remember back when it first came out and girls asked me for my screenname and vice versa. How long ago was that now about 10 years? At least now I have a screenname I that I've stuck with leaving behind SSJ Gokou, MegamanZero and stuff like that.
AIM will always be installed and running on my laptop!
What about you... what's your favorite instant messaging program? |
I don't know what version they are up to but AOL 6 is to heavy for my computer :-s it just slows it down to like, SERIOUSLY slow as in I can't move the mouse and when I do, it only moved a bit every second or two.
I used another version of AOL however, really basic, I still prefer Skype then Yahell and then MSN and THEN AOL due to the fact that I couldn't find it easy to navigate their site or have an option for a lighter version, plus it's America OnLine, not Australia OnLine, so I got my US mates to try a different messenger
